Dedicated to Helping Others, Starting in Our Own Office

Garwood Medical Devices, LLC is dedicated to helping others.

Buffalo, NY– February 8, 2023, At Garwood Medical Devices, our dedication to helping patients and saving lives does not stop with our BioPrax device.

On February 2, 2023, our team members participated in CPR, AED, and First Aid Training with a Certification by Buffalo CPR partnered with the American Heart Association. This certification prepares one for what to do when someone experiences a seizure, head and neck injuries, fractures, burns, wounds, choking, heart issues, and many other types of injuries.

The knowledge our staff learned from this training can increase the chance of survival in the case of an emergency till the emergency medical team arrives. Whether this emergency happens in our office or outside it, we want our staff to be able to help others.

Congratulations to Wayne Bacon, Greg Pepe, Mary Canty, Doreen McClain, Jackson Hobble, Mary Bacon, Bernadette Zumpano, Jacob Opalinski, Riley Ritchey, Tripti Gupta, Morgan Schnee, Bill Purcell, and Emily Herberger for completing the training program and earning their certifications.

On February 6th, several members of our team participated in a virtual Opioid Overdose Recognition & Naloxone (Narcan) Use Training and Certification Program. This free virtual training, is offered by the Erie County Department of Health. It is inspiring that many of our team members spent their lunch break attending the training.

Congratulations to Wayne Bacon, Greg Pepe, Doreen McClain, Morgan Schnee, Melanie Pawli, Bernadette Zumpano, Jacob Opalinski, Tripti Gupta, Bill Purcell, and Emily Herberger on adding yet another life-saving tool to their first aid toolkit!

BUFFALO, NY – December 16, 2022, Garwood Medical Devices, LLC has been selected as an awardee of the Innovations for Vets Quickfire Challenge launched by Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS with the Johnson & Johnson Office of Military and Veterans Affairs.

The intention behind this challenge was to help advance innovation that could benefit the military community. As a company named after veterans, Garwood Medical Devices, LLC plans to use BioPrax™ to benefit all prosthetic joint infection patients, especially those who have served.

BioPrax™ was granted FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in 2019 for our first indication, treatment of knee implant infection. Additionally, BioPrax™ has the potential for both treatment and prevention of infection on virtually all metallic implants.

Being awarded grant funding, access to the Johnson & Johnson Innovation-JLABS ecosystem, and mentorship from across the Johnson & Johnson Family of companies means a great deal to Garwood Medical.
