An interdisciplinary team of distinguished UB researchers has been assembled for this project. The team members will work closely with GMD to develop fundamental and comprehensive infrastructure to broadly develop robust GMD technology and commercial devices using rational design.
Anthony Campagnari (Co-PI, PhD, Microbiology and Immunology): Over 20 years expertise leading NIH projects on infectious diseases, biofilms, antimicrobial technology.
Mark Ehrensberger (Co-PI, PhD, Bioengineering): ES device and process design and characterization in vitro and in vivo (small animal models).
Edward Furlani (PI, PhD, Theoretical Physics): Team coordination. Modeling, design and optimization; ES device concepts/processes, sensors and wireless power and data transfer systems.
Thomas Furlani (Co-PI, PhD, Computational Chemistry): High performance computing, bioinformatics.
Josep Jornet (Co-PI, PhD, Electrical and Computer Engineering): Sensor integration, wireless power transfer and communications, network implementation and characterization.
Albert Titus (Co-PI, PhD, Electrical and Computer Engineering): ES device prototype fabrication, sensor design, fabrication and characterization.
Matthew Phillips A Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Department of Orthopaedics at The State University of New York at Buffalo.
